How To Make Easy Paper Dragonfly Craft
This summer Paper Dragonfly craft is not only a great fine motor skill activity for preschoolers, it can also be a fun little boredom buster for older kids from ages 6 up to age 10. You can also do this activity as part of a preschool bug craft, or for a bug themed week.
If you prefer your kids to do something with their hands, instead of hours of screen time, making paper craft is a great way to go.
Before we get started, you’ll need some basic supplies to make your paper dragonfly. You probably already have these in your stationary cabinet or drawer. Make sure to clear some space on a table, and let’s get into it!
List of Supplies:
- Colored craft papers
- Pencil
- A pair of scissors
- Craft glue
- Googly eyes
- Sharpies

Instructions:
Step 1:
Select colored craft papers and prepare the patterns from the provided template. Trace the template patterns on the selected craft papers and cut them out nicely.

Step 2:
Take the wing cutout and the teardrop cutouts. Glue the teardrop cutouts on the wing cutout.

Step 3:
For the second layer of teardrop shapes, we’re using glittery papers.

Step 4:
Take the rectangle cutouts and join the open ends of the cutouts to make cylinder shapes.

Step 5:
Take the base cutout and glue the big cylinder shape at an open end of the base strip.

Step 6:
Glue the other (small) paper cylinder shapes on the base cutout.

Step 7:
Glue the smallest paper cylinder shape at the end.
Step 8:
Glue 2 googly eyes on the top side of the big cylinder shape (the head of the paper dragonfly).

Step 9:
Glue the body base of the dragonfly in the middle of the wing pattern to complete the craft.
