Instructions For Kirigami Cherry Blossom Paper Craft
Step 1:
For each cherry blossom pattern, you will need 5 square pieces of paper and a different colored paper for the center part of the flower. Prepare 2”x2” paper pieces from the selected colored craft papers.

Step 2:
Fold the square paper in half, diagonally.

Step 3:
Hold the right 45-degree corner of the current paper and fold it upwards.

Step 4:
Fold the right flap in half.

Step 5:
Unfold the last 2 folds.

Step 6:
Keeping the first crease/fold intact (step-3 fold), open the current paper from the right corner (without unfolding the first diagonal fold).

Step 7:
Flatten the right side by folding it along the half-creases created in step-4 and aligning the right closed edge along the middle.

Step 8:
Fold in the triangle part and align it with the base layout.

Step 9:
Similarly, fold the left side of the base layout.

Step 10:
Fold the left flap in half, inwards.

Step 11:
Similarly, fold the right flap.

Step 12:
Apply glue along an open edge of the origami pattern.

Step 13:
Join the edge with the other open edge to form the cherry blossom petal.

Step 14:
You can keep the petal as it is, or, you can cut a round edge.

Step 15:
Cut out a small triangle from the tip of the round edge to give the petals a little detail.

Step 16:
Similarly, prepare 4 more paper petals.

Step 17:
Take any 2 paper petals and join them side by side, keeping the narrow side towards the center.

Step 18:
Join the 3rd petal beside the joint petals and join the 2 other petals together but keep them separate until the glue dries.

Step 19:
Now, join the 3 and 2 petals to complete the kirigami cherry blossom patterns. Trace and cut out a 5-petaled small flower shape from a different colored craft paper for the center.

Step 20:
Attach the small flower cutout to the center of the cherry blossom pattern to complete the craft.
